OUR CONDUCTOR AND MUSICAL DIRECTOR
JAN MODELSKI
CYSO is the brainchild of Jan Modelski.
Originally from London, Jan has lived in the Chester & North Wales areas for over 20 years and is a full time professional musician with many years’ experience as a conductor, performer and band leader, gaining an ever-increasing reputation in the orchestral music scene in the North West. He is currently Conductor and Musical Director to the Jan Modelski Community Orchestras, Wirral Community Orchestra, Chester Big Band, Jan Modelski Big Band. Jan is also an instrumental teacher, having many students in the Chester area of both school-age and adults. He teaches most instruments to performance level and specialises in violin, piano, percussion, trumpet and saxophone. He has an enviable record of taking many of his students to a high level of success with several of his students going on to study music or enjoy successful careers as professional musicians. Jan aims to ensure his rehearsals are relaxed and informal whilst at the same time ensuring that every musician becomes the best they can possibly be. This, in turn, will ensure a high level of professionalism and develop the musical skills and experience of everyone taking part.
