A BIT ABOUT US
Welcome to the website of Chester Youth Symphony Orchestra; a new orchestra set up in September 2014 aimed at young players of orchestral instruments based in Chester. The Orchestra has been set up to give Chester's young players of every orchestral instrument the chance to play in a full symphony orchestra. The aim is to make the experience fun and friendly whilst also achieving a high level of professionalism, therefore developing musical skills and experience. The repertoire will always be varied and challenging. |
HOW TO APPLY
Entry is through a short, informal audition and applications are welcome at any time throughout the year. Interested applicants are very welcome to along to a "taster" rehearsal to try the orchestra out prior to applying. We still have vacancies in some of our sections, particularly brass, strings and lower woodwind, so if you are interested in applying we would love to hear from you at any time! Applications are invited from players up to the age of 21 years and of around Grade 5 level or above, although this is only an indication - there is no requirement to have actually taken any exams. For more details on how to apply and to download an application form please go to our How To Apply page. |
